In March we will perform the first workshop from the series of three LIFE writer’s workshops. Each will cover a specific part of the application preparation process. Additionally there will be several short presentations of LIFE programme for companies that will take place all over Slovenia.

In collaboration with Slovenian beneficiaries of LIFE funds we prepared a short video of first-hand advices for the future applicants. 

While European Commission is already preparing a new LIFE call, the applicants of LIFE Call 2016 are just being notified of the results. And for this year applicants to have more time, the Call 2017 is planned to be published already in April.

In the framework of project LIFE Capacity Building Slovenia LIFE team of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning organized two LIFE Information Days, first in Maribor (24 January 2017) and second one in Postojna (26 January 2017). A call for LIFE Preparatory projects to support deployment of European Solidarity Corps (sub-programme for Environment) is now open. This call embodies a joint initiative of the European Programme for the Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) aimed at concretely exploring the potential of using volunteer work for environmental protection activities.

A Latvian foundation “Ventspils High Technology Park” is willing to cooperate with EU partners and looking for the partners on issues of Climate changes, solutions and green technologies. Last week a part of the LIFE CB SI team visited the National Contact Point in Spain. The purpose of the visit was to exchange experiences with the implementation of the LIFE programme with our Spanish colleagues, especially since Spain is among the countries that benefit the most from LIFE programme.

On Tuesday, 29th November 2016, the first in a series of workshops to establish a system of decision-making on irrigation was held at the headquarters of ROD agency for Development Ajdovščina. The workshop was performed in the framework of the project LIFE ViVaCCAdapt – Adapting to the impacts of climate change in the Vipava Valley.
