Aquaviva znak CMYKTwo years later exhibition Live Treasures of our Waters returned to Jakopič Promenade in Tivoli Park, Ljubljana. The exhibition is a result of LIFE project AQUAVIVA: Live Water – from Biodiversity to the Tap.

Lutra, Institute for Conservation of Natural Heritage, prepared and performed project AQUAVIVA in collaboration with Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia and HOPA Ltd. With the project they aimed at drawing attention to the problem of loss of biodiversity of freshwater ecosystems and raising awareness of the importance of its preservation. Thus in the period of three years numerous awareness-raising activities were performed; from educational workshops, online and bus advertising, to exhibitions at shopping malls, which had been proven to be very successful. European Commission listed the project among the finalists of “Best of the Best” LIFE projects and presented it with “Best Life Information Project 2015” award.

The exhibition Live Treasures of our Waters had certainly contributed to the success of project AQUAVIVA. Large-format illustrations and photographs of freshwater biodiversity draw the attention to the importance of maintaining freshwater biodiversity and the urgency of its preservation. In May 2014 the exhibition was for the first time available to the public on the Jakopič Promenade in Tivoli Park, Ljubljana. At the invitation of Ljubljana Tourism the exhibition returned to Tivoli Park and will be on display until 1st December 2016.

Co-financers of the project were European Commission, Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning and HSE Group.
