The project team LIFE DINALP BEAR estimated the number of bears in Slovenia by genetic analysis. More than 1,000 participants contributed to the results, which collected 2,472 samples in the life span of the brown bear in the first three months of the year 2015. Compared with the measurements carried out in 2007, it was found that in the eight years the number of bears grew by one third. The team believes that excellent cooperation between different institutions from Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Italy has contributed to the successful work.
